Many genres, one art form
Many genres, a single art form...Classical, Modern, Postmodern, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Afro, Merengue, Flamenco, Rumba, Rock&Roll, Ballroom, Boogie-Woogie, Rap, Oriental, Salsa , Kizomba, Bachata... The list of various genres of dance, or rather, dance, is endless. Everyone has their own roots and a land that most represents them. Austria with Waltz, the Caribbean Islands for Salsa and Mambo, Argentina for Tango. Over time, however, these dances have established themselves almost everywhere in the world. world, retaining most of their essential characteristics and also absorbing variations from the host land. If it is widely believed that "certain dances are in the blood", Maestro Eddie Torres, who we have had as a guest in our events, has for many years been considered the most famous Mambo-Salsa teacher and choreographer in the world. He specifies that "Dance is a gift, and as such it can come regardless of the race to which one belongs or the country in which one lives, even if these two elements can actually constitute an advantage, but certainly do not exempt the dancer from the exercise constantly to improve one's technique and style". "It is also true, adds Eddie Torres "The Mambo King", that origin, environmental and social context have their weight. In any case, one's origins count for nothing when there is the passion and open-mindedness that helps to understand with humility.
